Travelling to Warsaw

Warsaw can be easily reached by plane from all around the world.

By plane

Warsaw's Chopin Airport (www.lotnisko-chopina.pl) is the city's main airport and it lies in the southern part of the city (about 10 km). The airport has an outpost of the city tourism office, currency-exchange counters and ATMs.

Warsaw Modlin Airport (www.en.modlinairport.pl) is about 35km north of Warsaw and handles budget carriers, including Ryanair.

By train

Warsaw has several train stations. The most convenient one is the Warszawa Centralna (www.pkp.pl, Aleje Jerozolimskie 54) located in the central part of the city. This station is also connected to the city via underground.

By bus

The Warszawa Zachodnia bus terminal is west of the city center and it handles the majority of international and domestic routes.

Travelling around the city

All locations are within walking distance from the conference venue (Sofitel Victoria Warszawa). If you need to travel around the city, you can choose among the public transportation infrastructure, taxi, and Uber.

Public transportation

To plan your trips you can use Google Maps or the travel planner from the city. You can also download the smartphone app. Jakdojade.

You can buy tickets from one of many ticket vending machines at the bus stops and in the metro stations, and inside most buses and trams.

Ticketing:

• 20 min ticket 3,40 PLN: entitling to an unlimited number of journeys for a period not exceeding 20 minutes
• single-fare transfer ticket 4,40 PLN: entitling to an unlimited number of journeys for a period not exceeding 75 minutes from its validation or entitling to a single journey to a stop or station which is the last on the route
• one-day ticket: 15,00 PLN: entitling to an unlimited number of journeys for 24 hours from its validation
• 3-day ticket: 36 PLN: entitling to an unlimited number of journeys for 72 hours from its validation

Taxi

The city has various taxi companies, including Sawa Taxi Warsaw, Ele Taxi, and Globe Taxi Cab.
Rates are:

• 1,50-2,70 PLN/km (day)
• 2,50-3,80 PLN/km (night)
• Note: hailing a taxi from the rank may be even 30% more expensive than calling one.

From the airport, a taxi would charge you approximately 50 PLN to reach the Sofitel Victoria Warszawa.

Uber

Uber drivers are all around the city. To get a fare estimate you can check on the Uber smartphone app. or online on Uber website.
